SuperBroom Advanced is a portable, simple to use advanced Electronic Device Detector, also known as a Non-Linear Junction Detector (NLJD). Discriminating between electronic targets and innocent naturally occurring signals, SuperBroom Advanced is capable of detecting electronic devices whether they are a transmitting or hardwired, regardless if they are switched on or off.
Advances in listening device technology mean that sophisticated devices are available which, once concealed in a target area, can be controlled remotely. These devices can be activated only when required, such as during important board meetings. This remote capability not only helps prolong the battery life of the device, but also reduces the chance of detection.
Dormant radio listening devices, which have either been switched off remotely or have exhausted their battery, cannot be detected using RF receivers. Although no longer a threat, exhausted devices provide valuable information about an eavesdropper. The technology and concealment of a device give a good indication of the experience and determination of the eavesdropper and will provide valuable clues to assist in future sweeps.
Radiating a spectrally pure signal, SuperBroom Advanced detects the second and third harmonic return signals re-radiated by possible targets or non-linear junctions. The relative strength of these returns varies depending on the material of the junction, allowing SuperBroom Advanced to quickly distinguish electronic devices.
The output power of SuperBroom can be controlled manually or in automatic mode, SuperBroom Advanced can automatically adjust power output to prevent saturation of target non-linear junctions. This allows more accurate analysis of the return signals and optimises unit performance.

SuperBroom plus Type Approval
SuperBroom plus TA is a fully EU type approved version of SuperBroom Advanced. When SuperBroom plus TA is switched on, a search algorithm selects the 10 best RF channels for optimum operation. SuperBroom plus TA then ‘hops’ between these channels, ensuring that potential interfering signals are avoided.
