Due to the large variation of aircraft sizes it is necessary to have sling assemblies of different sizes available.
WE OFFER FOUR SIZES, which covermost commercial and private aircraft operated today:
- CAT III-Set for wide-bodied aircraft
- CAT II-Set for narrow-bodied aircraft
- CAT I-Set for small aircraft
- For safe recovery of aircraft with composite structure such as the B787 and the A350 we offer the KUNZ ALS CAT III Advanced Lifting Sling System and the ALS CAT IV which includes the A380.
The KUNZ Recovery Lifting Sling Assembly CAT I, suitable for aircraft up to 15 tonnes consists of:
- 1 H-type spreader beam with one main traverse with an adjustable width of 1.6 m up to 3.2 m, carrying a traverse for FWD and AFT position. The width of the FWD and AFT traverse can be adjusted from 0.8 m up to 2.4 m, lifting capacity 15 tonnes.
- 3 sets of two ea. heavy duty lifting slings with webbings (3 m, 5 m, 7 m length) to cover different aircraft types, lifting capacity 8 tonnes at basket hitch, safety factor of 7.
- 1 H-type spreader beam with traverses, lifting capacity 15 tons, painting RAL 1004.
- 1 Set, two ea. Heavy duty lifting sling webbing’s, lifting capacity 8 tons at basket hitch, safety factor of 7, lengths 3 m, 5 m, and 7 m.
- 1 Steel mesh box for slings and accessories.
The KUNZ Recovery Lifting Sling Assembly CAT II, suitable for aircraft with a fuselage circumference of 8 m to 12 m consists of:
- 1 Lifting Sling Assembly for fuselage positions, lifting capacity 16 tons at basket hitch, safety factor of 7, with foam coated sling webbing and tie straps.
- 2 Polyester rope slings with crane rings and hooks.
- 2 Lifting Slings to attach to MLG trunnion or beam for lifting at wing positions, with 4 m effectiv length, lifting capacity 40 tones, safety factor of heavyduty polyester round slings is 7.
- 1 Steel mesh box for slings and accessories.
KUNZ ALS CAT III Advanced Lifting Sling System
CONSISTING OF:
- 1 Telescopic spreader beam for CAT III Lifting Sling Assembly, WLL 32 tons capacity, working width: min. 3250 mm, max. 6550 mm
- 2 Heavy duty round slings, lifting capacity 25 t, length 5 m
- 2 “Triangle”-beams with pin-plug system, capacity 16 t each
- 4 One-strand chain hangers, capacity 4 t each, length 2 m

- 1 Telescopic spreader beam for CAT IV Lifting Sling Assembly, WLL 50 tons capacity, working width: min. 5385 mm, max. 8640 mm
- 2 Heavy duty round slings, lifting capacity 40 t, length 8 m
- 2 Alignment beams with rollers adjustable on fixed bolt able position
- 8 Lifting sling webbings (foam coated), according to the norm DIN EN 1492-2 240 mm width, with 4 t capacity (8 t at basket hitch), 20 m length.
